The reclaimed frames are from South Africa. They are pieces of wood from old ships or old houses etc. that have been dried in the hot south African sun. They can take up to four years to dry. Once dry they are then made into frames of different sizes by homeless people. This gives the homeless an income so they can then go on to have some kind of future. This was set up by two brothers Mark and Brian Farmer in 1996 to help homeless off the streets of Cape Town. They receive a respectful wage . The frames have a unique character all individual.
